The New Metrics team recently took part in the annual Omani Society for Human Resources Management (OSHRM) Conference. It was three days full of discussions, knowledge sharing and networking with thought-leaders and HR professionals from Oman and the region. The event brought around 500 people, from students to Oman’s top HR influencers, all keen to explore the shifting HR landscape and what this means for the future of the industry.
Our Client Director Miriam Kugel and Associate Management Consultant Jarek Michalski co-delivered the workshop; ‘Who will be in and out’, exploring what HR of the future will look like and how HR professionals can survive and thrive in this rapidly changing industry.
The workshop, run over two sessions, attracted participants with wide ranging experience and backgrounds. Each participant had different insights and opinions to bring to the table, resulting in lively discussions and exchange of ideas. Here is what one post-grad HR student, Amira, thought of the session:
Due to the great response from the sessions, we have created an exclusive LinkedIn group – HR Business Partners Oman, as a platform to continue conversations about HR in the Sultanate. If you have an interest in HR and would like to be part of this group, get in touch with Miriam. Due to the exclusive nature of the group, new members are only accepted upon invitation.
The New Metrics exhibition stand enjoyed great popularity, with many people stopping by to learn more about our unique expertise in people experience and learning and development. The stand’s relaxed look and feel, complete with sofas, a Nespresso coffee machine and giveaways, allowed our visitors to experience our innovative approach first hand.
Throughout the event we also ran a business card raffle draw. First prize winners will be awarded an executive team building, second prize will win an Emotional Intelligence masterclass workshop and third prize will receive an HR business book. The winners will be announced very shortly.
All in all, it was an enriching and thought-provoking event and the New Metrics team was proud to be involved.
